United States Code The compliation of laws passed by the Congress of the United States of America and currently in effect. Often referred to as USC or U.S.C. A commercially printed legal used by lawyers is called United States Code Annotated (or USCA or U.S.C.A.) and that abbreviation is also frequently used. Generally speaking, statutes affecting a particular subject are grouped into a Title. The United States Code is divided into 50 Titles, as follows:
