Goal

CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocate Association, is a nationwide not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting children in the courts of America. CASA volunteers are appointed by family court judges to get to know their charges on a personal basis and then speak for them in the courtroom. A CASA volunteer will be appointed to the child for as long as it takes until the issue is resolved. They will never be reassigned and will work closely with a small number of charges. Thus, the CASA volunteer knows the charge much better than their lawyer(s) and social worker(s).
